Kambi comments on Ontario market launch

Following the launch of single-event sports betting and regulated iGaming in Ontario, Kambi has joined a host of other suppliers and operators in launching into the newly regulated market.

Ontario’s gaming market is being regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), which has licensed a string of other suppliers including Pariplay, Blueprint Gaming, Playtech/Quickspin and FSB.

Notable operators entering the market include BetMGM, PointsBet, Unibet, Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers brand, bet365, LeoVegas, theScore, 888 and Coolbet.

Ontario’s launch has been in the pipeline for four years; it sees a region the size of the fifth-largest state in the US enter the regulated market.

The supplier’s Senior Vice President (SVP), Sarah Robertson, told

“As a Canadian native, I am particularly excited Kambi’s sportsbook, including our hockey offering and Game Parlay product, is now available in Ontario, one of the largest markets in North America; and we look forward to supporting the launch of additional partners over the coming months. »

Kambi has recently published its 2021 annual report, in which a 33% increase in revenue helped the provider achieve an all-time revenue high of

€162.4m ($178.4m), with operator turnover of 40%.

This turnover represented a 77% growth in operating profit, strengthening Kambi’s net cash position to €72.3m.
